I did it! I finally did it! I finished a knitting project, that is! I picked up knitting again as a hobby just a couple weeks ago (inspiration from Heather (Dewey) from 2Peas…THANK YOU Heather!) and wanted to start with something simple to boost my confidence. Well, it took me about 2 days to knit this “must-have” newborn accessory, and it was totally easy! I’m so excited that I actually started and most importantly FINISHED something. Now, I just need a little cutie patootie to model this hat for me, and I would be in high heaven!

Hi Ester, I popped in thru 2 peas. I love your hat that you made. So cute!!! Turned out awesome! Do you recommend any sites to get started with knitting? I can crochet but never tried to knit. I have had the itch and seeing your cute little hat is making me want to do it. I need some cute additional props for my photography newborn shoots and I want to try to make it myself. I would love any advice that you have to give. Sincerely, Kristy Jo
Hi Kristy Jo,
Thanks for popping in and visiting! I’m glad you feel inspired to knit, as I was. The first thing I bought to get started was a leaflet called “I Can’t Believe I’m Knitting!” I picked it up at Michaels I think. It basically taught me everything I now know. It’s a great little book. Then I just recently bought some books on patterns, and actually found this newborn hat pattern on ravelry.com. It’s a great site if you haven’t been there yet. You need to be a member (it’s free), but once you are in, the possibilities are endless! Another great site for knitting how-to’s is techknitter.blogspot.com. I hope you find this advice helpful! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask away, and I will try to answer them as best I can. Good luck with everything. =)
I just love your HAT! That is so amazing. The color is brilliant. You should open an etsy shop.
